Zari Consulting Group is excited to take part in this year’s NFPA Conference and Expo, which will be held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas beginning Monday, June 09 through Thursday, June 12.

Monday will serve as the Grand Opening for the Expo, and will consist of presentations by James M. Shannon, the current NFPA President and CEO, and Michael Beschloss, who is a award winning historian and the author of numerous best selling books.

Tuesday will be centered around the Featured Presenter, Kurt Schwartz, the Undersecretary for Homeland Security, who will be discussing the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombings and the subsequent multi-jurisdiction response to capturing the suspected terrorists.

On Wednesday, the Technical Meetings will begin with NFPA 37 (Stationary Combustion Engines and Gas Turbines), NFPA 750 (Water Mist Systems), NFPA 731 (Electronic Premises Security Systems), and NFPA 1192 (Recreational Vehciles). On Thursday, Technical Meetings will continue for NFPA 720 (Carbon Monoxide Detection), NFPA 59 (Utility LP-Gas Plant Code), NFPA 54 (Fuel Gas Code), NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety at Work), NFPA 99 (Health Care Facilities), NFPA 703 (Fire Retardant Treated Wood and Coatings), NFPA 101 (Life Safety Code), and NFPA 5000 (Building Construction & Safety Code).

NFPA Technical Meetings are intended to allow experts in the respective NFPA codes and standards to voice their opinion on proposed changes to the NFPA technical documents. The Standards Council, which is appointed by the NFPA Board of Directors, then reviews comments made by NFPA members to determine if further auditing of proposed changes to the codes and standards is necessary.
