Re: Design Criteria for Storage Arrangement
Shoe Company Store
8300 Acme Circle, Suite #500
United States
Zari Consulting Group Project No. Sample

Dear Mr. Smith:

Zari Consulting Group, Inc. has reviewed the drawing submittal set for the proposed storage arrangement at the above mentioned Shoe Company store located in Anytown, United States. We have reviewed the storage arrangement with respect to the 2010 edition of NFPA 13. The detailed information provided below is based on the most hazardous, and therefore most hydraulically demanding, storage arrangement at the Shoe Company store.

It has been determined that the footwear section of the space contains a greater hazard than the apparel section, which mainly consists of natural fibers (cotton).

Based on our review, we have the following findings:

Storage Configuration

The proposed shelf storage location is on the first floor of the space. The storage is located in the stockroom, which is in the rear of the store. Items will be stored on shelves, up to 10 feet in height. The ceiling height is approximately 15feet.

Section 8.5.6.1 of NFPA 13 requires clearances from the storage to the sprinkler deflectors to be a minimum of 18 inches.
